There’s even an extra DJ-app that controls the lighting. However, all these features packs the top of the device with buttons and makes the app difficult to navigate. There are also audio settings for different music styles as well as an extra bass amplifier. The speakers can be connected, either in a stereo pair or in party mode with up to 10 compatible models. If you wish to be a DJ, you can hook up a microphone and shout to the guests. The most obvious are the disco lights, which pulses and flashes to the music, and can be set by music style.

Built-in party lights complete the club atmosphere, and the rechargeable battery lets you play music even without a power outlet. They work well if all you’re doing is move the speaker, but not if you plan on carrying it around for a while. Hold an EDM party anywhere, with EXTRA BASS beats from the GTK-XB60. However, the carrying handles are not all that comfortable. But at full volume with extra bass and lamps, it only lasts for three hours! This is somewhat comparable to the others in the test. This has been fixed in the Sony GTK XB60, which lasts up to 14 hours at reasonable levels and with the lighting effects turned off. If you don’t want the lights- simply turn them off. The lights help to create additional atmosphere and in a darkened room give just enough light to create that party ambience. I am no expert so could not tell you if the sound is the purest but that did not spoil the enjoyment. We could feel the vibrations through the floor. When they are turned up even with the Xtra bass on you get that club feel. These speakers produce a fantastic sound, with a deep base that fill the room. Tested them before the party and thought they were fairly loud but wondered if they would do the job with 80 people absorbing some of the sound. Bought two of these for my twin daughters’ 18th birthday party.
